The first thing you need to do any actual drilling for Oil, Gas or any hydrocarbon well is “Drilling Bit”
|
| |
In the market today there are two types of Drilling Bits, Roller cone and PDC Bits.
|
| |
Roller Cone Bits:
|
| |
There are a normal three cone Bits that have been used for drilling Oil wells for decades. There are many types to use from soft formation /low compressive strength to extremely hard and abrasive formation, from roller bearing air cooled to sealed roller bearing, and to sealed friction bearing with gage protection. For ordering you must specify IDAC, three digit no. the fist digit specify formation, second digit the type of Bit and the third digit is allocated to seal type and off course the size of Bit required

| |
There are two categories of three cone Bits. Mill tooth Bits which is normally use for soft to medium formation and Tungsten Carbide Insert (TCI) used for soft formation to extremely hard and abrasive formation
